It’s a simple and convenient way to manage your SASSA grant.

Let me show you how I did it.

Step-By-Step Guide to Change Sassa R350 Payment Method to e-Wallet

1. Visit the SASSA Website:

Carefully type the following address into the address bar of your internet browser (like Google Chrome or Safari): srd.sassa.gov.za

Important: Make sure you’re on the real SASSA website. Look for the ‘sassa.gov.za’ part of the address and a little lock icon next to it, which means the site is secure.

2. Enter Your ID Number:

Look for a box asking for your South African ID number.

Carefully type in your ID number exactly as it appears on your ID document.

3. Click the “Submit” Button:

You’ll usually see a button below the ID number box that says “Submit”. Click that.

4. Get the Code On Your Phone:

SASSA will send a special code to your cellphone as a text message (SMS).

Check your phone’s messages and look for the code from SASSA.

5. Enter the Code on the Website:

Go back to the SASSA website. There should be another box asking for the code they sent you.

Type the code from your phone’s message into the box carefully.

Click “Submit” again.

6. Find the Change Payment Method Section

The website will take you to a page with your information.

Look for a section or a button that says something like “Change Payment Method”, “Update Details”, or something similar.

7. Select “E-wallet” as Your Option

You’ll see a list of different ways to receive your SASSA payments.

Find the one that says “E-wallet” or the name of the e-wallet service you use (like Mukuru) and click on it.

8. Carefully Enter Your E-wallet Details

The website will ask you for specific information about your e-wallet. This usually includes:

Your cellphone number linked to your e-wallet account

Sometimes, other details depend on the e-wallet you are using

Type in your information very carefully. Double-check to make sure you don’t make any mistakes.

9. Confirm the Change

Look for a button that says something like “Confirm”, “Submit” or “Save Changes”. Click this button.

10. Wait for Confirmation

SASSA will review your change request.

You should receive an SMS or a message on your e-wallet to confirm they’ve changed your payment method.
