SASSA SRD R350 Status Check Using WhatsApp

Checking the status of my SASSA grant used to be such a hassle. I’d try navigating the website, but it always seemed to lead me in circles.

Then there were the long hold times on the phone… let’s just say I wasn’t a fan.

But recently, I discovered that checking your SASSA SRD R350 status can be incredibly simple – all thanks to WhatsApp!

It’s been a lifesaver. I don’t have to waste time on confusing websites or sit on hold forever.

Now, a few quick messages are all it takes to know where my application stands.

Let me show you how!

But, before you start:

How to Check Your SASSA SRD R350 Status Using WhatsApp Number

1. Save the SASSA WhatsApp number:

  • Open your phone’s Contacts app.
  • Tap “New Contact“.
  • Enter “SASSA Status Check” as the name.
  • In the phone number field, enter “0820468553.
  • Save the contact.

2. Start a chat with SASSA:

Open your WhatsApp app.

Search for “SASSA Status Check” in your contacts and open the chat.

3. Send the initial message:

Type “SASSA” in the chat window and send it.

4. Choose the “Status Check” option:

You will receive an automated message with several options.

Look for the option that says “SRD R350 Status” or “STATUS“.

Reply to the message by typing the chosen option (e.g., “SRD R350 Status”) and sending it.

5. Respond about your reference number:

SASSA will ask if you have your application reference number.

If you have it readily available, reply with “Yes“.

If you don’t have it, reply with “No“. (Don’t worry, we’ll still help you find out your status without the reference number.)

6. Provide your phone number (if you don’t have a reference number):

If you replied “No” in the previous step, SASSA will ask for the phone number you used when applying for the SASSA SRD grant.

Enter the phone number carefully and send it.

7. Enter your reference number (if applicable):

If you replied “Yes” in step 5, SASSA will ask you to enter your reference number.

Type your reference number accurately and send it.

8. Receive your application status:

After providing the necessary information, SASSA will send you a message with your application status.

This message will include:

  • Your current application status (e.g., “Approved”, “Pending”, “Declined”).
  • Your application ID.
  • Your upcoming SASSA payment date (if applicable).

Congratulations! You have successfully checked your SASSA SRD R350 application status using WhatsApp.

Additional tips:

If you encounter any difficulties during the process, you can contact SASSA directly through their toll-free helpline at 0800 60 10 12.

  7. why does sassa not know if one is rejected by nsfas, they also reject me while I am rejected by nsfas, I think the system is poor in coordinating with each other. since been rejected by nsfas from 2022, to this day Sassa does not know that I am unemployed and no longer studying because nsfas rejects my applications, the question arises whether are there any monitors nor inspectors in all these institutions created, or are these online portals created to make our lives struggle more, what is it that you are doing…
