How to Fix “pending” Sassa R370 Status to Approved

I know the feeling. That “pending” status next to your SASSA R370 grant application can feel like a heavy weight, especially when you’re counting on that money.

I’ve been there myself, refreshing the page over and over, hoping for a change.

But I’ve also been on the other side, seeing that “approved” message and breathing a sigh of relief.

A “pending” status for the SASSA R370 grant means your application is still being processed.

There isn’t a direct way to “fix” this status and change it to “approved” yourself, as the decision lies with SASSA.

However, here are the possible solutions and actions you can take:

1. Be patient and wait

The most common reason for a pending status is that SASSA is still verifying your information.

This process can take some time, especially during periods of high application volume. Continue to check your status regularly for updates.

2. Check for missing or incorrect information

If your application is missing any information or contains errors, it may be delaying the approval process.

Double-check your application to ensure all details are accurate and complete. If necessary, contact SASSA to update your information.

3. Verify your eligibility

Make sure you meet all the eligibility criteria for the R370 grant.

This includes being a South African citizen, permanent resident, or refugee with a valid ID, being unemployed, and not receiving any other social grants or UIF payments.

4. Contact SASSA

If your application has been pending for an extended period, consider contacting SASSA directly for assistance.

They can provide updates on your application status and advise you on any further actions needed.

You can reach them through their website, helpline, or WhatsApp channel.

5. Visit a SASSA office

If you’re unable to resolve the issue through online or phone channels, visiting a SASSA office in person may be helpful.

The staff can offer guidance and support in resolving any issues with your application.

Important Note:

  • There is no fixed timeframe for processing SASSA R370 grant applications, and the duration of the pending status can vary depending on various factors.
  • While you cannot directly change your application status to “approved,” following the steps above can help ensure your application is processed smoothly and efficiently.

    • It will decline if you receive money in your bank account. Or at shoprite even receive cash send because the sassa people are checking your ID together with your cellphone number.
