Job Description

Impala Platinum (Implats) is offering a registered learnership programme for unemployed South African youth in the Rustenburg area. The initiative focuses on training in trades including Electrician, Boilermaker, Fitter, and Rigger, combining on-the-job and off-the-job learning to develop artisan-level competence.

Requirements

• Minimum of N2 with four (4) subjects or NCV Level 4 with 7 subjects (including Mathematics above 40%) – Essential
• Completed Serviceman Training Programme – Essential
• Preference given to current engineering employees
• Successful completion of assessments and recommendation for formal interview
• Medical Fitness Certificate (Red Ticket)
• Completed RFA and Heat Tolerance Screening (HTS)
• Internal candidates must include Line Manager approval

Responsibilities

• Train toward an Artisan / Learnership qualification
• Assist artisans and perform technical tasks
• Execute maintenance and engineering work safely
• Complete all required training phases successfully
• Follow Impala’s rules, regulations, and safety procedures
• Work under supervision with an appointed coach (artisan/foreman)
• Perform basic fault diagnostics and reporting
• Maintain engineering equipment to avoid production losses
• Gain supervision experience by acting in limited supervisory roles
