Job Description

Manages the implementation and delivery of a section of a site against time, quality and cost standards.

Requirements

• Grade 12 or Equivalent
• At least five years relevant experience supervising construction teams
• Concrete working experience
• Ability to work outside normal hours, during emergencies and planned overtime
• Ability to work in high-stress conditions and rapidly changing environments
• Excellent organisational and leadership skills
• Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
• Excellent writing and reporting skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Good planning and organising skills
• Knowledge of OHSA/MHSA and safety and environmental issues
• Understanding of company project safety requirements
• Ability to read plans and drawings

Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead the team
• Ensure safety of team members
• Communicate job tasks to and with the team
• Assign tasks to team members
• Maintain work standards and behavioral expectations to ensure morale and productivity
• Ensure team compliance with company policies and procedures
• Translate general work requirements into prioritised work plan
• Review daily goals periodically to meet forecasted production
• Work with team to overcome work-related challenges
• Recognise, address and resolve issues among team members
• Promote and support teamwork and harmony
• Maintain Site Foreman’s reports
• Maintain daily time and attendance reports
• Recommend workforce actions including recruitment, releases, promotions and discipline
• Understand and comply with MHSA requirements
• Facilitate mandatory safety toolbox meetings
• Ensure completion of initial safety and hazard assessments
• Participate in safety and incident investigations
• Ensure company vehicles and equipment checks are carried out
