Construction Supervisor

Job Description

Ensures safe and effective construction of several concrete structures in a construction environment.

Requirements

• National senior certificate / Grade 12 (Matric)
• Supervisor training certificate advantageous
• At least 5 years’ experience in construction environment
• Knowledge of technical drawings
• Knowledge of construction materials and equipment
• Planning and reporting skills
• Attention to detail
• Outcome and deadline driven
• Reliable and honest
• Functional and technical skills
• Effective planning and organising
• Solid understanding of construction industry
• Knowledge of national legislation, standards and bylaws applicable to construction business

Responsibilities

• Work with materials and equipment cost-effectively according to standard operating procedures and practice notes
• Assist QS with onsite measurements and recordings
• Execute operational work and supervise team tasks on shift
• Comply with all reporting and information requirements set by Site Agent
• Check drawings and quantities to ensure accuracy
• Provide information to assist Site Agent with client liaison
• Liaise with Team Leaders and Operators about performance, methods, progress, and quality
• Comply strictly with SHEQ policies, procedures, and legislation
• Record actual progress against programme for work area and team
• Report work progress to Site Agent / Project Manager
• Ensure paperwork and posters on site office walls are displayed and updated
