Job Description
The role exists to perform technical supervision of a tailings project, ensuring site setting out, applying relevant designs and plans, resource management, project progress monitoring, and liaison with sub-contractors.
Requirements
- BTech or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Industrial or Metallurgy advantageous
- Minimum three years’ experience working in tailings and remining management environment
- Ideally two years’ experience in production supervision capacity
- Solid knowledge of mining, production and tailings industry
- Knowledge of national legislation, standards and bylaws applicable to tailings environment
- Technical and operational skills
- Solid knowledge of methods and practices of deposition, remining, water, load and haul
- Attention to detail
- Excellent commercial astuteness

- Project management skills
Responsibilities
- Ensure operational execution aligns to production outputs
- Efficient operations project execution
- Manage, control and monitor costs, materials and equipment; implement cost-effective measures
- Manage contracts in line with commercial parameters and budget
- Implement and monitor company’s ESG mandate, social responsibility and legislative compliance
- Promote ongoing communication with client representatives and internal mine stakeholders
- Manage key interfaces with client contractors, operations and local communities
- Oversee operational execution through teams and subcontractors
- Produce and monitor weekly and monthly programmes for job or job sections
- Compile daily diaries and work schedules
- Prepare short-term daily programmes including resources and allowable
- Implement controls at execution point to inform management and correct deviations immediately
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of reporting data
- Set and adhere to technical standards and work methods
- Oversee implementation of Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality plans and compliance
- Execute zero harm mandate
- Lead, manage and coach project execution teams
- Build culture of continuous improvement and align with client culture
- Drive Division’s employee value proposition and decent work principles
