Trainee Tax Consultant Internship

Join KPMG’s Tax practice as a Trainee Tax Consultant and contribute to delivering client-focused tax solutions. The role offers exposure to global mobility services, corporate tax, and VAT, supporting South African and multinational clients while growing technical skills in a dynamic environment.

Requirements

• Completing or completed BCom Honours in Taxation (ideal)
• BCom or LLB degrees
• Other qualifications with exposure to Tax and Honours degree considered
• Strong attention to detail with systematic and structured working approach
• Drive, enthusiasm, and proactivity in managing multiple tasks
• Good interpersonal and communication skills at all levels
• Effective time management and prioritisation skills
• Ability to deliver within tight deadlines and adapt to various working environments
• Tax technical skills and eagerness to learn
• Confidence in engaging with senior client representatives
• Resilience and openness to feedback

Responsibilities

• Work within a team delivering Tax services across specific business units
• Manage client responsibilities under supervision, reporting to senior team members
• Support Global Mobility Services by assisting with tax compliance and consulting for corporate clients with local and global employees
• Assist Corporate Tax teams in structuring businesses and managing tax obligations and risks
• Support VAT requirements and advise on legislation complexities for South African and multinational companies
• Adapt to project team assignments and learning curves immediately upon joining
