Join L'Oréal as a Scientific Valorization Intern and become a crucial link between our scientific innovations and the consumer. This role is perfect for a science graduate with a passion for beauty and stellar communication skills. You will be tasked with translating complex scientific data into compelling, easy-to-understand product claims that resonate with consumers, particularly in the Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) market. Your work will involve creating robust scientific support files, developing engaging communication strategies for social media, and collaborating with our Marketing and Research & Innovation teams.
Requirements
- Must hold an M.Sc. or higher degree in Chemistry, Biology, Cosmetic Science, or a closely related scientific field.
- A strong foundational understanding of cosmetic formulation is essential.
- A supplementary degree in Marketing or Communications is considered a significant advantage.
- Proven experience in project management, with a working knowledge of strategic project management tools.
- A solid grasp of scientific research and development (R&D) processes.
- Ability to translate complex scientific concepts into innovative product solutions.
- A demonstrated commitment to continuous learning in the field of cosmetic science.
- Experience in gathering and interpreting consumer insights, especially within the SSA market.
- Strong social media acumen and an up-to-date knowledge of cosmetic trends.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional team environments.
- A background in regulatory affairs or legal compliance for scientific projects is a plus.
- Capacity to generate and manage innovative ideas while adhering to strict quality and safety standards.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Superior organizational and time-management abilities.
- Specific knowledge of the cosmetics market in the Sub-Saharan Africa region is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Develop innovative product claims that align with consumer needs and market trends in the SSA region.
- Scientifically substantiate all product claims to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Create comprehensive and robust scientific dossiers for both local (SSA) and international product launches.
- Ensure all scientific documentation is fully compliant with relevant regulatory requirements.
- Design and execute effective scientific communication strategies for target audiences.
- Leverage social media expertise to clearly articulate product benefits based on scientific evidence.
- Collaborate seamlessly with Marketing, Research & Innovation (R&I), and Regulatory teams.
- Ensure all scientific communications are accurate, relevant, and aligned with brand objectives.
- Conduct thorough market research and competitive analysis to identify new opportunities.
- Utilize market insights to inform and guide product development strategies for the SSA market.
- Continuously expand personal expertise in cosmetic science and formulation.
- Share knowledge and the latest industry advancements with internal teams to foster collective growth.
