Quality In-Service Trainee - Isando

Join National Brands Limited (NBL) at our Isando Biscuits Factory in Kempton Park, Johannesburg, and contribute to a 170-year legacy producing iconic biscuit brands like Bakers Tennis®, Blue Label Marie®, and Choice Assorted®. This 12-month fixed-term contract offers hands-on experience in high-volume biscuit manufacturing, focusing on product shelf-life testing, analytical reporting, and quality assurance. Reporting to the Quality Manager, you’ll work in a dynamic environment that values innovation, quality, and teamwork.

Requirements

• A 2-year National Diploma in Food Technology, requiring only 1-year in-service training to complete studies
• Computer literacy with ability to perform data reporting and analyses
• Ability to work irregular hours
• Leadership skills
• Good verbal communication skills
• Ability to operate both independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities

• Conduct product shelf-life testing and quality assurance for biscuit production
• Perform analytical reporting on quality metrics
• Identify and address quality deviations through root cause analysis
• Participate in new product development (NPD) project trials
• Engage in food safety protocols and compliance activities
• Handle incoming laboratory samples for quality testing
• Contribute to quality systems and process improvements
• Collaborate with quality assurance professionals and other teams
• Apply academic knowledge to real-world factory settings
• Support high-volume biscuit manufacturing processes
