Manager: Data and Analytics

Job Description

Capitec Connect is hiring a Manager: Data and Analytics to lead the development of data-driven solutions and enhance business decision-making using predictive models and analytics. The role focuses on converting strategic plans into actionable insights, promoting best practices, and advancing Capitec's leadership in data science through collaboration, innovation, and cloud-based tools.

Requirements

• More than 10 years of experience in a commercial setting
• At least 4 years of experience in a team leadership or managerial role
• Experience in the telecommunications industry (ideal)
• Proficiency in SQL and delivering complex analytical requirements
• Experience managing senior and executive-level stakeholders
• Ability to influence decision-making at executive levels
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Salesforce Data Cloud
• Familiarity with low/no code AutoML tools like Power BI or AWS SageMaker
• Proficiency in data visualization using tools such as Power BI
• Experience working with big data frameworks such as Hadoop or Kafka
• Experience with Git or GitHub
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong facilitation and presentation abilities
• Commercial and strategic thinking
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to drive innovation and simplify processes
• Completed Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Engineering, Mathematics, or Statistics

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of data-driven solutions across Capitec Connect
• Identify and capitalize on business opportunities using analytics and predictive modeling
• Translate strategic objectives into actionable insights
• Promote analytics best practices and data-led decision-making across teams
• Collaborate with stakeholders to implement advanced analytical tools and solutions
• Drive adoption of cloud platforms and AutoML tools
• Deliver high-impact data visualizations for strategic presentations
• Ensure process improvement and operational efficiency through data insights
