Lead: Insurance Reporting Accountant

Job Description

Capitec is seeking a Chartered Accountant to lead insurance reporting within its Financial Management team. This role includes oversight of financial reporting, business planning, budgeting, and management reporting in line with IFRS 17. The ideal candidate will bring strategic insight, technical accounting expertise, and a deep understanding of insurance finance. The finance function at Capitec is evolving into a tech-driven, insight-oriented unit, emphasizing sustainability and real-time analytics.

Requirements

• CA(SA) qualification
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in Insurance and IFRS 17
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and analytical capability
• Understanding of financial reporting and management reporting processes
• Experience with budgeting and business planning in a financial services context
• Ability to operate in a data-driven, digital finance environment
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Capacity to manage complex reporting structures and meet regulatory standards
