Intern: Finance Operations

Job Description

Join the Finance Operations Internship at Sage and gain hands-on experience across the Order-to-Cash lifecycle. From credit control and debit order management to receipting and month-end reporting, you'll receive comprehensive training, mentorship, and exposure to corporate finance tools and soft skills.

Requirements

• Grade 12 matric certificate
• Commerce qualification in Accounting or Economics preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; other accounting software is an advantage
• Clear criminal record
• Strong desire to learn and grow in a professional environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Effective interpersonal skills to work with customers and colleagues
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks
• Attention to detail and accuracy in financial operations
• Problem-solving mindset and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to collaborate and work independently
• Availability to begin on 1st October 2025 for 12 months
• Willingness to complete the online assessment, video interview, and attend the Assessment Centre

Responsibilities

• Review and validate order compliance and documentation
• Handle debit order incidents, loadings, and rejections
• Perform credit control functions including outbound/inbound communication and reconciliations
• Process debtors' journals and address queries via email and chat
• Investigate unknown deposits and perform accurate cash allocation
• Assist with KPI tracking, audit support, and monthly financial reporting
• Support ad hoc departmental projects as required
