Job Description

The Foschini Group is looking for a WEEG Intern: Technologist. This role involves providing technical support to buyers and suppliers, managing the sample approval process, ensuring import orders are released, and communicating technical requirements to suppliers. The intern will also be responsible for capturing reports, maintaining accurate records of sample performance, and staying updated on industry trends. TFG is an internationally diversified retail portfolio of 34 speciality lifestyle and apparel brands that inspire customers and offers endless growth opportunities.

Requirements

  • Relevant Diploma/Degree in Garmin Construction, Garmin Technology, Pattern Making, and technical related qualification.
  • Excellent MS Office expertise

Responsibilities

  • To provide technical support to buyers and suppliers as necessary.
  • Manage the specific area's sample approval process within SLA.
  • Ensure import orders are released on the Shipping system.
  • Work closely with suppliers to communicate technical requirements and address any production challenges.
  • Capture reports on Horizon and QMS system across the departments
  • Maintain accurate records of sample performance, textile testing results, and quality control outcomes on TFG's systems.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and new materials to drive innovation and improvement.
  • To conduct Product Benchmarking as required by the Lead Technologist.
  • To regularly monitor the quality standards of delivered goods to stores, customer returns & the quality standards of product within the stores of our major competitors
  • Answer and follow up customer complaints regarding quality and undertake relevant investigation as required.
