Job Description
TMF Group is seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to deliver accurate and timely payroll services to clients. You will oversee payroll processing, ensure compliance with tax and legislative requirements, and maintain strong client relationships. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, proficiency in payroll systems, and the ability to lead junior team members in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- IPASS/CIPP, or equivalent qualification with substantial experience in a fast-paced, high-volume payroll position
- Detailed knowledge of PAYE (including BIK) and PRSI/NI
- Familiarity with Revenue’s Online Service and bank transfer processes
- Experience with payroll systems e.g. Sage Micropay, STAR and Microsoft office packages or willingness to learn to use payroll systems
- Resourceful, independent, and strong problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and communication skills, with strong ability to plan ahead and organise themselves
- Able to articulate and communicate with clients in a concise and professional manner
- Fluency in English
Responsibilities
- Process weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls, remittances, and filings with tax authorities/pension providers accurately and on time
- Supervise and allocate tasks to junior colleagues, maintaining responsibility for task accuracy and completeness
- Meet indicated deadlines for each allocated client task
- Perform tasks in compliance with company payroll policies and employment legislation
- Ensure compliance with data protection and control risk within the payroll function
- Act as the primary contact for payroll audits, Central Statistics Office, and other requirements, answering queries and preparing statutory returns
- Process, pay, reconcile, and report benefits such as health insurance, pensions, and share awards
- Provide administrative support for payroll and benefit issues and maintain accurate records
- Perform standard tasks to onboard new clients
- Identify out-of-scope services and provide respective information to the team leader/manager
- Keep up to date with changes in local payroll and tax legislation
- Escalate concerns to line supervisors or managers in a timely manner
- Use TMF’s payroll software effectively
- Maintain relevant databases, client records, and tracking tools
- Provide administrative support to the payroll team as required
- Attend client meetings as required
- Undertake additional duties as reasonably expected
