Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience as a database administrator
• Cloud database experience
• Ability to consult on data architecture and evaluate project impacts on architecture
• Experience with SQL Server 2016 and 2019
• Expertise in MS SQL Server database design and development (DB design, optimization, tuning, ETL, stored procedures, triggers, views)
• Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), Reporting Services (SSRS), and Analysis Services (SSAS) is beneficial
• Practical experience with Microsoft SQL Always On
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
• Excellent troubleshooting and resolution skills
• Analytical mindset
• Results-oriented and team player
• Matric and applicable tertiary experience or ICT-relevant diploma or degree
• Relevant technical certifications
• MCDBA certification is advantageous

Responsibilities

• Maintain and ensure the performance, integrity, and security of SQL databases
• Plan and implement future database enhancements
• Support business needs through optimized data management
• Consult on and assess data architecture related to projects
• Develop and optimize database solutions using MS SQL Server
• Utilize SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS where applicable
• Implement and manage Microsoft SQL Always On availability groups
