Job Description
The University of the Witwatersrand is seeking a Senior Lecturer in Structural Engineering to teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses, supervise research, and develop a productive research program within the School of Civil Engineering.
Requirements
- Doctoral degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Evidence of teaching in Structural Engineering
- Evidence of research in Structural Engineering
- Evidence of successful higher degree supervision in Structural Engineering
- NRF rating (advantageous)
- ECSA Professional or Candidate Engineering registration (advantageous)
- Evidence of generating research funding (advantageous)
Responsibilities
- Lecture Structural Engineering undergraduate courses
- Lecture other Civil Engineering undergraduate courses
- Lead a Structural Engineering postgraduate course
- Participate in academic administration
- Supervise the research of undergraduate and postgraduate students
- Develop a productive research program
