Retail Sales Consultant (Township Markets)

Job Description

A Financial Services company is seeking a Retail Sales Consultant (Township Markets) in Johannesburg. The role focuses on achieving sales targets within the retail environment, building strong relationships with merchants, managing leads, and executing both indoor and outdoor marketing initiatives in assigned regions.

Requirements

• Matric (Grade 12)
• Tertiary qualification in Sales or a related field
• Proven experience in financial services or banking sales
• Strong track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets, preferably within a retail environment

Responsibilities

• Achieve stipulated sales goals and KPIs associated with the job description
• Create and maintain a sales leads pipeline through prospecting, lead management, merchant visits, and marketing
• Prepare daily and weekly planning of sales activities
• Make and receive calls to promote products, and track and engage in follow-up conversations with prospective clients
• Connect, build, and maintain relationships with the Customer Relationship Management Team within the retail environment
• Build and maintain relationships with merchants, including conducting regular merchant visits
• Generate sales opportunities internally and externally within the retail environment, including indoor and outdoor marketing events within the assigned geographical region
• Record all sales activities in the CRM platform and follow up on leads to ensure acceptable conversion rates
• Prepare and submit applications in accordance with underwriting, compliance, and risk procedures
