Job Description

Join the Dis-Chem Pharmacies Cosmetics Retail Learnership, created to develop skills for promoting and selling Dis-Chem’s Cosmetics & Beauty products with consistent customer service. Best suited for individuals passionate about beauty, cosmetics, and sales with a Matric qualification.

Requirements

  • Matric / Grade 12
  • Willing and able to work retail hours
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Previous working experience within the beauty environment (advantage)
  • South African citizen
  • Clear Criminal and Credit Record (MIE)
  • Willingness to work flexi-hours / retail hours
  • Trustworthy and honest
  • Basic financial skills
  • Good English reading, writing, and speaking skills
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, listening, self-management, and computer skills
  • Knowledge of promotions, personal selling, sales targets and customer liaison

Responsibilities

  • Ensure stock on shelves has not reached sell-by dates
  • Maintain full range of products on shelves at all times
  • Participate in department stock takes as requested
  • Keep storeroom organized, neat and tidy
  • Report low stock levels, out-of-stock items, damaged or expired stock to management
  • Facilitate stock rotation regularly following Dis-Chem stock control procedures
  • Identify and report damaged and expired stock immediately to store management
  • Ensure boxes are flattened and taken to designated area after unpacking
  • Restock merchandise to ensure maximum sales
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and merchandising displays throughout the store
  • Present displays attractively including window areas
  • Demonstrate products through makeovers, cosmetic demonstrations, spray promotions, or activities
  • Price and label all relevant goods correctly
  • Work towards sales targets for vendors and brands within Cosmetics Department
  • Adhere to stock layout principles
  • Merchandising displays in cosmetics area must be faces up and stocked
  • Assist with loading and off-loading stock when needed
  • Report price discrepancies to management
  • Provide friendly, helpful, and courteous assistance and advice to customers
  • Process payments at Cosmetics Department Point of Sales (POS)
  • Advise customers without forcing brand changes
  • Resolve all customer stock queries
