Payroll Internship - 12 Months Contract

OUTsurance is offering a 12-month Payroll Internship designed to provide workplace experience in a high-performance, people-focused environment. Interns will engage in payroll operations and general administrative tasks, split across two semesters, gaining critical exposure to HR systems, data accuracy, and internal compliance workflows. The role suits candidates with strong attention to detail, who are eager to grow within a structured payroll and HR setting.

Requirements

• BA in Business Administration or BCom in Human Resources or similar relevant field
• MS Office proficiency; advanced Excel skills advantageous
• Exposure to payroll environment (advantageous)
• Must be a South African citizen
• Must not have participated in an INSETA Internship/Learnership before
• Aged between 18 and 35
• Unemployed for at least the last 2 months
• Great interpersonal and communication skills
• Attention to detail and quality-oriented
• Team player
• Good time-management skills
• Strong administrative skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritise
• Capable of working under pressure in a deadline-driven environment

Responsibilities

• Facilitate induction processes
• Manage Payroll counter and telephone
• Terminate employee records and finalise resignation packs
• Update and maintain employee records
• Perform general administrative duties
• Scan and file documents
• Conduct quality checks and sign-off on HR documents
• Capture staff information accurately
• Assist in creating payroll imports
• Handle UIF application forms and communication
• Execute ad hoc payroll tasks
