The Manager Analytics Financial Control role is a senior management position in the Regulatory Reporting team, responsible for ensuring consistency and accuracy of returns, queries, commentary, and supplementary data submitted to the Prudential Authority. The role involves producing monthly and quarterly analytics packs, managing consolidated returns, and designing robust review methodologies and analytical tools. This is a hybrid position combining remote and on-site work in Johannesburg.
Requirements
- CA(SA) or B-degree/similar qualification in a financial/related discipline
- Postgraduate Degree or Professional Qualification in Financial Sciences
- Non-CA with 8-10 years relevant experience or CA with 6-8 years post-qualification experience
- Regulatory Reporting experience
- Management experience (preferable)
- Business experience in a Banking environment gained from a Finance or Product perspective
- Strong problem-solving skills

Responsibilities
- Maintain a high level of knowledge of Regulatory Reporting, including new developments and impact analysis
- Maintain knowledge of Banking (Retail, Wealth, Investment Banking, Wholesale Banking, Treasury)
- Provide challenge to technical subject matter experts in risk and production centres
- Provide review and sign-off of team deliverables
- Perform and present financial analysis
- Prepare and present commentary
- Design, develop, and maintain analytical processes and tools to ensure accurate information
- Interact with senior leaders in the firm and the Prudential Authority
- Engage with outside key partners (e.g., auditors) where required
- Identify and implement projects to improve the wider risk and return production environment
- Design, develop, and implement analytical tools to ensure accurate internal and external reporting
- Perform scenario analyses to anticipate and challenge reporting results
- Ensure team members have a detailed understanding of products and businesses for relevant analytics design and interpretation
- Provide input into regulatory reporting deliverables using business knowledge from analytical processes
- Provide commentary on reporting
- Assist Risk and Production centres in continuously evaluating and enhancing the control framework
- Produce monthly and quarterly packs for submission to the Prudential Authority
- Produce consolidated returns for submission
- Design, develop, and implement processes and systems for reporting data to the Prudential Authority, Regulatory Review Committee (RRC), and Regulatory Reporting Change Control Committee (RRCCC)
- Implement controls to ensure reporting accuracy
- Ensure all reporting is delivered on time and is accurate
- Review reporting and commentary from Risk and Production areas to ensure accuracy
- Provide leadership to junior team members in implementing and improving reporting processes
- Ensure assigned projects are planned, staffed, and successfully implemented within agreed timelines
- Communicate risks to successful project implementation and propose alternatives
- Assist in embedding formal Performance Development and informal coaching in the team
- Review training needs of team members and ensure they receive relevant training
