Linux Systems Engineer

Job Description

A digital production studio at the forefront of media and technology seeks a Linux Systems Engineer to ensure the stability, performance, and security of their Linux-based infrastructure. The role involves managing servers, media systems, file structures, and high-volume operations supporting cross-functional engineering teams.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant Linux certification
• Experience as a Linux Systems Engineer in production environments
• Strong command-line and scripting capabilities
• Experience with Nginx, MySQL, SSL, and backup/storage management
• Knowledge of OTRS/Znuny ticketing systems is a plus
• Familiarity with Vicidial/Bria telephony systems is advantageous
• Exceptional troubleshooting and analytical skills

Responsibilities

• Install and upgrade Linux software across servers and workstations
• Set up and manage Linux file systems, user accounts, and access control
• Maintain and troubleshoot mail gateways such as Postfix and Zimbra
• Manage Nginx reverse proxies, load balancers, SSL certificates, and scripting
• Support media processing, high-volume storage, and telephony systems
• Automate systems with Ansible
• Monitor and optimize system performance
• Provide after-hours support for critical Linux infrastructure issues
