Lecturer in Environmental Engineering

Job Description

The University of the Witwatersrand is seeking a Lecturer in Environmental Engineering to teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses, supervise research, and develop a productive research program within the School of Civil Engineering.

Requirements

• Doctoral degree in Civil Engineering or Chemical Engineering with a focus on Environmental Engineering (preferable)
• Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related Environmental Engineering field (for exceptional candidates with potential to pursue a Doctoral degree)
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related Environmental Engineering field
• ECSA Professional or Candidate Engineering registration (advantageous)
• Evidence of teaching in Environmental Engineering (advantageous)
• Evidence of research or experience in Environmental Engineering (advantageous)
• Evidence of successful higher degree supervision in Environmental Engineering (advantageous)

• Lecture Environmental Engineering undergraduate courses
• Lecture other Civil Engineering undergraduate courses
• Lecture in Environmental Engineering postgraduate courses
• Participate in academic administration
• Supervise the research of undergraduate and postgraduate students
• Develop a productive research program
