Job Description
The University of the Witwatersrand is seeking a Lecturer in Environmental Engineering to teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses, supervise research, and develop a productive research program within the School of Civil Engineering.
Requirements
- Doctoral degree in Civil Engineering or Chemical Engineering with a focus on Environmental Engineering (preferable)
- Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related Environmental Engineering field (for exceptional candidates with potential to pursue a Doctoral degree)
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related Environmental Engineering field
- ECSA Professional or Candidate Engineering registration (advantageous)
- Evidence of teaching in Environmental Engineering (advantageous)
- Evidence of research or experience in Environmental Engineering (advantageous)
- Evidence of successful higher degree supervision in Environmental Engineering (advantageous)
Responsibilities
- Lecture Environmental Engineering undergraduate courses
- Lecture other Civil Engineering undergraduate courses
- Lecture in Environmental Engineering postgraduate courses
- Participate in academic administration
- Supervise the research of undergraduate and postgraduate students
- Develop a productive research program
