Job Description

Green Office is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented HR Intern for a 6-month fixed-term contract in Pinetown, Durban. This role provides practical exposure to various HR functions including recruitment, payroll, performance management, and compliance. It's an ideal opportunity for recent Human Resource graduates seeking real-world experience in a corporate HR environment.

Requirements

  • National Diploma or Degree in Human Resource Management (completed or in progress)
  • 1 year HR experience
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good written communication skills
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Ability to handle confidential information professionally

Responsibilities

  • Support recruitment of junior staff including CV screening, reference checks, interview coordination, and onboarding
  • Draft employment contracts and track fixed-term contracts
  • Maintain accurate staff filing and recordkeeping
  • Compile monthly payroll input including hires, terminations, leave data, and changes
  • Maintain the HR dashboard and organogram
  • Manage employee files and respond to general HR queries
  • Process leave forms, track attendance, and prepare reports on leave trends
  • Track performance appraisals, capture job profiles, and support disciplinary/grievance procedures
  • Update training and skills development records for SETA submissions
  • Assist with Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) administration
  • Conduct exit interviews, prepare UI19s and certificates of service, and archive files
