Job Description

Mastercard seeks a Director, Specialist Sales - SME to partner with regional and global stakeholders, banks, acquirers, fintechs, and SME service providers to identify strategic growth opportunities and strengthen SME offerings through multiple distribution channels.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience in financial services and payments with understanding of competitive offerings and industry trends
  • International market knowledge and/or experience (preferred)
  • SME banking or SME payment experience is an advantage
  • Consulting background is a plus
  • Ability to navigate both technical and business-oriented conversations
  • Excellent writing skills with experience creating training materials, product guides, etc.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance
  • Self-motivated and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexible and creative, with capacity to thrive under constant change
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to evolving responsibilities
  • Proficiency in storyboarding and creating visually compelling presentations with logical structure
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with ability to lead initiatives end-to-end
  • Ability to build strong cross-functional relationships and internal networks to execute strategies
  • Strong customer relationship-building and management skills to meet internal and external demands

Responsibilities

  • Diversify Go-To-Market channels beyond traditional issuers and acquirers by leveraging SME expertise and insights to establish partnerships with marketplaces, CPGs, logistics providers, Payfacs, telcos, and other enablers
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop comprehensive business plans for SME solutions, analyzing revenue opportunities, emerging markets, and new payment flows
  • Monitor industry trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging opportunities to inform product positioning and GTM strategies
  • Create and refine SME Segment narrative for executive briefings, account planning, sales engagements, and product discussions
  • Partner with Customer Solutions Center and product teams to provide pre- and post-sales support
  • Advocate for SME strategy and alternate distribution approach in customer and partner engagements
  • Develop and update sales materials, bulletins, and resources to support product launches via SME Central Hub
  • Identify and design differentiated product bundles supporting SME digitization of distribution channels
  • Lead creation of business meetings, workshops, marketing initiatives, and collateral to strengthen SME value proposition
  • Support partner engagements, RFP responses, and represent Mastercard at external conferences to drive adoption
  • Distribute thought leadership materials and best practices across teams
  • Identify and pursue new SME payment flows to generate revenue and strategic wins
  • Oversee GTM execution and rollout for new initiatives, ensuring alignment across teams
  • Maintain collaboration with Customer Solution Centers to address market needs and achieve SME KPIs
  • Drive product knowledge through certification programs, ensuring consistent SME narrative across teams
  • Foster cross-functional coordination and proactively identify new opportunities
