Pepkor Lifestyle is looking for a Courier Operations Supervisor at the Skooch Polokwane division. The role involves overseeing courier activities, managing delivery schedules, ensuring compliance with safety standards, resolving operational issues, and leading a team to provide efficient courier services. This position includes administrative duties, customer service, performance monitoring, and continuous process improvement within a fast-paced logistics environment.

Requirements

• Diploma or equivalent qualification; logistics or management qualifications advantageous
• Proven supervisory experience in courier, logistics, or transportation
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Problem-solving and decision-making ability
• Multitasking and adaptability in fast-paced settings
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in logistics software and delivery tracking systems
• Knowledge of local geography and delivery routes
• Flexibility to work shifts including weekends and holidays

Responsibilities

• Supervise courier activities to ensure timely and smooth deliveries
• Monitor deliveries via tracking systems and optimize routes
• Address operational issues including delays, route changes, and emergencies
• Manage vehicle maintenance and safety compliance
• Coordinate with warehouse management for picking and loading accuracy
• Manage courier workload and conduct pre-shift briefings
• Track and evaluate courier performance and prepare shift reports
• Provide coaching, training, and personnel management
• Implement process improvements to optimize performance and reduce costs
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and legislative requirements
• Maintain accurate logs and coordinate vehicle/equipment maintenance
• Serve as primary contact for customer inquiries and complaints
• Promote excellent customer service and resolve delivery issues promptly
