Catering Supervisor

Job Description

Feedem is recruiting for a Catering Supervisor with education experience in Tzaneen to provide a safe working environment, ensure compliance with health and safety procedures, and supervise meal preparation and kitchen operations.

Requirements

• Tertiary culinary qualification or equivalent
• Previous 3-5 years supervisory experience advantageous
• Excellent food skills required and experience
• Operational standards: Performance management, financial analysis, computer proficiency, and human resources
• Entrepreneurial skills: Strategic management, outcome focus, and productivity
• Interpersonal skills: Client/customer interface, managing group process, and communication skills
• Strong admin skills
• Ability to build and maintain a motivated team in a dynamic environment

Responsibilities

• Supervise all aspects of meal preparation, clean-up, and general upkeep of the kitchen
• Prepare food and all associated cooking, including special dietary meals, menu planning, and portion controls
• Organize and supervise a food service, including preparing and cooking, portion control of meals, and provision of special dietary meals
• Ensure opening and closing down procedures are followed correctly
• Maintain good working relationships with team, colleagues, and residents
• Ensure that all team members comply with licensing legislation
• Control hygiene, health, and safety, including security of the kitchen, its surrounds, and customer-facing areas
• Ensure that the catering areas’ cleanliness is followed using cleaning schedules
