Mine Overseer Development

Job Description

As a Mine Overseer Development at Ivanhoe Mines, you’ll lead underground mining operations in Limpopo, ensuring safe and efficient production. You’ll oversee drilling, blasting, and ore loading while managing teams to meet production targets. This role requires strong leadership and technical expertise in trackless and massive mining, contributing to the development of a state-of-the-art mining project focused on safety and operational excellence.

Requirements

• Grade 12
• Blasting Certificate
• Mine Overseers Certificate of Competency
• Valid Drivers License
• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a mine overseer within the mining industry
• Excellent Trackless mining experience
• Extensive experience of massive mining

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage daily underground operations to ensure compliance with Mine Health and Safety policy and practices of the company
• Coordinate and schedule mining activities, including drilling, blasting, and loading of ore
• Supervise a team of miners and contractors, providing guidance and support to ensure production targets are met
• Monitor production targets and implement initiatives to optimize mining operations
• Prepare and submit reports on mining activities, including production volumes, safety performance, and equipment maintenance
