Job Description
Feedem is recruiting for a Barista in Johannesburg to prepare and serve hot and cold beverages, including coffee and tea, while educating customers on the drinks menu and ensuring excellent customer service.
Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric
- 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role
- Ability to work quickly and safely
- Good communication skills
- Ability to use simple arithmetic, follow directions, remember orders, read, and write
- Ability to work as part of a team
Responsibilities
- Analyse recipes to assign prices to menu items, based on food and overhead costs
- Check the quantity and quality of received products
- Collaborate with other personnel to plan and develop recipes and menus, taking into account such factors as seasonal availability of ingredients and the likely number of customers
- Determine how beverages should be presented, and create decorative displays
- Monitor sanitation practices to ensure that employees follow standards and regulations
- Assist with any other duties that may be outside scope of responsibility
- Hands-on involvement with the focus of improving the cooking and overall standards of meals served
- Introduce new trends in the industry that will uplift the standards and reduce cost of sales without affecting quality
