Job Description

The University of South Africa (UNISA) offers a 12-month internship in the Communication Division for UNISA Radio, focusing on broadcast assistance. Interns will support studio operations, manage equipment, and assist with programming and live broadcasts, contributing to UNISA’s public engagement efforts. This programme provides mentorship and practical workplace experience for unemployed South African graduates passionate about broadcasting.

Requirements

National Diploma or Degree in Audio Technology, Sound Engineering, Radio Production, or Broadcasting (NQF Level 6 or above)
Unemployed South African citizen
No formal work experience in the field of application
No previous participation in an internship programme at UNISA or any other organization
Age not older than 35 years
UNISA graduate in the required field of study
Ability to provide certified copies (not older than 6 months) of South African ID, Matric Certificate, Academic Record, and UNISA qualification

Responsibilities

Support studio operations for UNISA Radio
Manage broadcasting equipment
Assist with programming and live broadcasts
Contribute to UNISA’s public engagement through broadcasting
Collaborate with the Communication Division team
Ensure technical quality of radio productions
Participate in mentorship and professional development activities
