Job Description
Ackermans is seeking a Systems Business Analyst for VAS & Cellular to act as an interface between Systems Teams, Business, and third parties. The role involves diagnosing problems, identifying solutions, proposing improvements, and executing action plans to support the Financial Services (VAS) and Cellular Business Areas. The position focuses on developing FinTech capabilities while maintaining existing processes and is based at the Ackermans Support Centre in Kuils River, Cape Town.
Requirements
- Grade 12 Certificate/Matric
- A relevant Degree or Higher National Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, System Design, Management Science, Information Systems, or Business Analyst
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in FinTech or financial services industry
- Approximately 5 years’ experience in Apparel Retail and Systems
- Experience with business process exposure/understanding (VAS & Cellular)
- Experience in process optimization/improvement
- Experience in elicitation and documenting BRS/BRD
- Experience in IT and 3rd party collaboration
- Experience in setup, management, and execution of testing
- Project management skills with ability to lead and motivate teams
- Experience in training/change management
- Systems/Business support for BAU
- System Architecture understanding (area-specific – integration environment/technical competency)
- Experience with Unified Modeling Language (UML): High-level context diagram, Product Breakdown Structure, System Architecture diagram, Flow Chart, Business Workflow diagram, Business Process Model and Notation, Use Case diagram, Use Case Narrative
- Experience in test execution ensuring launch and maintenance of quality digital products
- Basic Oracle/Structured Query Language (SQL) knowledge (area-specific)
- Knowledge of Waterfall and Agile working methodologies and principles
- Working knowledge of implementing and maintaining systems/services/applications
- Knowledge of PMBOK and BABOK management principles
- Ability to compile quantitative and/or qualitative information/reporting
- Experience working with business users to build reports and dashboards
- Intermediate to Advanced MS Suite user
- Knowledge of system integration (environment/area-specific)
- Knowledge of Personal Data Protection – POPIA
- Experience facilitating successful integration between eCommerce systems
- Knowledge of implementing FinTech solutions to drive business growth
- Knowledge of cloud-based (SaaS) software applications that can enable services
- In-depth knowledge of hardware and software lifecycle management (SDLC)
- Knowledge of Change Control governance principles and Defect management
- Knowledge of fit-for-purpose system integration in an ERP- and non-ERP environment
- Experience utilizing various modeling techniques
- Knowledge of UI/UX
- Experience with process mapping tools (e.g., Draw.io)
- Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to convey complex concepts simply
- Ability to provide technical support and training to internal teams on FinTech tools and platforms
- Ability to identify opportunities for process improvements through FinTech innovations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail
- Ability to conduct risk assessments and facilitate cross-functional mitigation
- Project Management Diploma/Certificate (preferred)
Responsibilities
