Quality Control Supervisor

Job Description

Pollock Associates is hiring two Quality Control Supervisors for a pharmaceutical manufacturing client in Cape Town. One role will focus on regulatory compliance, while the other will lead operational QC processes. Both positions are key to ensuring consistent product safety and quality, working closely with cross-functional teams to meet stringent industry and internal standards. Reporting to the QC Manager, these roles offer impact, pace, and collaborative opportunities in a dynamic environment.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Technology, or related field
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in an analytical laboratory within the pharmaceutical, beauty, or cosmetic sectors
• Supervisory experience in a QC environment
• Understanding of Quality Management Systems including ISO 9001, ISO 22716, and SANAS 1841
• Familiarity with GLP and GMP; HPLC experience advantageous
• Experience in artwork review is a plus
• Knowledge of Syspro for managing item codes and BOMs
• Strong communication skills across all levels
• Highly detail-oriented, goal-driven, dependable, and proactive

Responsibilities

• Oversee compliance with GMP, ISO standards, and internal quality systems
• Approve lab data, artwork, and product specifications
• Maintain and manage item codes and BOMs within Syspro
• Lead investigations into non-conformances and support production teams
• Supervise QC team activities, including calibration and verification of lab instruments
• Coordinate environmental monitoring and outsourced analytical services
• Develop, implement, and refine QC procedures and SOPs
