Graduate Legal Intern - Private Colleges

Job Description

The Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET), Technical Vocational Education and Training branch, is seeking a Graduate Intern for a 24-month fixed-term contract in Private Colleges. The role supports legal and regulatory tasks for private college oversight at the Pretoria Head Office. Due to the high volume of applications anticipated, only short-listed candidates will be contacted.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Law or LLB
• No previous service as a Graduate Intern or contract worker in the Public Service
• All qualifications subject to verification
• Foreign qualifications must be evaluated by the South African Qualification Authority (SAQA)
• Subject to citizenship verification, reference checks, and security vetting

Responsibilities

• Assist in legal and regulatory oversight of private colleges
• Support the review and compliance of college policies
• Compile reports and documentation for legal processes
• Maintain records for regulatory activities
• Collaborate with teams on legal compliance initiatives
• Provide administrative support for private college oversight
