Operator Loadout Station

Job Description

We have a permanent opening for an Operator at the Mamatwan Mine Load-out Station. The primary function of this role is to support train loading operations. You will be a versatile team member, providing relief for key positions such as Shunters, Locomotive Operators, and the Process Controller. Your focus will be on ensuring that all pre-loading checks are completed and that operations are conducted safely and efficiently.

Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in shunting operations is mandatory.
• A reclaimer license and previous train loading experience are considered advantageous.
• Internal candidates must have at least a Grade 10; external candidates require a Grade 12 with mathematics.
• Possession of a valid Shunter or Locomotive Operator Certificate.
• A valid driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough pre-inspections of wagons and equipment prior to the commencement of train loading.
• Identify and correct any unsafe conditions found on wagons before loading.
• Be prepared to operate different types of machinery as dictated by operational requirements.
• Participate actively in any workplace incident or safety investigations.
• Proactively report any observed unsafe behaviors or conditions to management.
