Job Description

This permanent Artisan Fitter position at Wessels Mine offers a unique opportunity to contribute to our operational efficiency and environmental targets. You will be responsible for maintaining key equipment with a focus on energy utilization and cost optimization. Your expertise will be applied to the inspection and repair of pumps, sewage treatment plants, and ventilation fans, ensuring both safety and performance in line with our sustainability commitments.

Requirements

• A minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience as a qualified Fitter.
• In-depth knowledge of the inspection and repair processes for various types of pumps is essential.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the inspection and repair of sewage treatment and oil separation plants is required.
• Prior experience in maintaining and repairing ventilation fans will be considered advantageous.
• Experience operating a UV80 and a Telehandler will be beneficial.
• Applicants must have a Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science/Technical Drawing, or an N2 Technical Certificate along with a relevant Mechanic Trade Test.
• A valid Code 08 driver's license is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Interpret technical diagrams and coordinate preparatory work for repairs, as well as planned and predictive maintenance schedules.
• Conduct thorough safety inspections of equipment and accurately assess any associated risks.
• Uphold a high standard of cleanliness and safety at the worksite.
• Ensure the proper maintenance, care, and security of all tools and equipment.
• Coordinate troubleshooting activities to efficiently diagnose and repair maintenance equipment.
