Graduate Intern: Office of the Director-General

Job Description

The Department of Higher Education and Training is inviting applications for its 2025/2027 Graduate Internship and Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Programme. This specific position, with reference number DHET/CS/2025/01, is a fixed 24-month contract within the Corporate Services Branch, focusing on the Office of the Director-General.

Requirements

• National diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Management Assistant, Administration, or Public Management.
• Must be unemployed in the Public Services or have never participated in any Internship programme.
• Must be a South African citizen.
• Must have satisfied the academic requirements for the advertised field of study.
• Applicants who have previously served as a Graduate Intern or contract worker in the Public Service will will not be considered.
• Foreign qualifications must be evaluated by the South African Qualification Authority (SAQA).

Responsibilities

• Provide work exposure to graduates in their relevant field of studies.
• Assist with general administrative and office management tasks.
• Support team members with ongoing projects and tasks.
• Conduct research and compile information as needed.
• Prepare and maintain documentation, reports, and presentations.
• Communicate project progress and challenges with stakeholders.
• Contribute to the overall goals of the Corporate Services Branch.
