Job Description

ninety9cents is seeking a Mid-Weight Broadcast Producer to join their Cape Town production team. The role ensures efficient and cost-effective execution of TVC, AV, digital, content-integrated, and radio productions. The position requires management of the full production process from creative briefing to job wrap-up, while aligning with the agency’s mission of delivering impactful and strategic content. This includes scheduling, budgeting, approvals, negotiations, supplier management, and ensuring timely delivery of all production assets.

Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualification
  • 4 – 6 years’ experience as a Broadcast Producer in an advertising agency or production house
  • Knowledge of content & commercial post-production and scheduling processes
  • Experience managing television, digital content & post-production timelines
  • Experience producing web and mobile content (advantageous)
  • Strong understanding of the production process from conception and negotiation through traffic
  • Technical understanding of post-production, broadcast, and digital deliverables
  • Understanding and negotiating music rights
  • Understanding on-camera renewals
  • Excellent presentation skills

Responsibilities

  • Planning and scheduling the production process
  • Manage all aspects of production: briefing, costing, booking in of approvals, setting up work-in-progress meetings, final approvals, sending out purchase orders, and reconciling the job
  • Maintain communication with creative, client service, and production teams to facilitate workflow
  • Client-facing communication and management
  • Identify and address potential legal issues in collaboration with the Head of Production
  • Negotiate, generate, and manage schedules and budgets
  • Present production budgets and schedules and respond to related queries internally and with clients
  • Source appropriate post-production partners for projects
  • Build and maintain relationships with third-party production suppliers
  • Negotiate competitive pricing and scheduling
  • Stay informed on industry and technological trends
  • Foster innovative production solutions
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards
  • Maintain strong client relationships and manage expectations while ensuring on-strategy, on-time, and on-budget delivery
  • Ensure timely delivery of all production materials, including final masters for trafficking
  • Develop strong internal and external relationships
  • Provide administrative and general support to the Head of Agency Production
