Job Description
As a Landside Operations Coordinator at Cape Town International Airport, you will ensure seamless airport operations by managing infrastructure maintenance and development projects. Reporting to the Senior Operations Coordinator, you will monitor construction activities, ensure compliance with safety and service standards, and coordinate stakeholder efforts to optimize passenger processing. Your role is pivotal in driving continuous improvement and maintaining high operational efficiency in a dynamic aviation environment.
Requirements
- Matric/Grade 12 is essential.
- National Diploma NQF Level 6 in a relevant field is essential.
- Degree NQF Level 7 in a relevant field is recommended.
- Certificate in Airport Operations is recommended.
- 4 years’ experience in Airport Operations or relevant Operations.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Driver’s License Code B.
Responsibilities
- Manage capacity through coordinating infrastructure maintenance and development projects to achieve a high level of infrastructure availability in a safe operating environment.
- Provide view and make recommendations in terms of impact and availability of infrastructure across all operational areas.
- Monitor construction activities and the impact thereof on operational requirements, safety standards, security standards, and service levels.
- Strive for continuous improvement with respect to the end-to-end process on behalf of operations.
- Coordinate test and simulate contingencies to mitigate risk on event activities.
- Analyse events and engage for a long-term solution for continuous improvement.
- Ensure all resource allocation models are adhered to, to achieve the required service standards.
- Take overall responsibility for the results of ASQ and QMS surveys and define corrective action where required.
- Analyse information to identify trends to ensure process and system efficiency.
- Ensure compliance to relevant statutory/legislative regulations, SOPs, operational standards, policies, and practices.
- Respond to audit findings and implement appropriate action.
- Ensure that operations are executed in accordance with existing contract (SLA).
- Direct and coordinate stakeholders to ensure passengers are processed efficiently.
- Participate in people development initiatives such as performance management, succession planning, talent management, etc. to ensure team performance meets required standards.
- Provide input into departmental management reports.
- Report on operational performance and highlight areas of material variances.
- Build, support, and maintain healthy diverse internal (peers, unions, team) as well as external (service providers, etc.) relationships and implement remedial actions required to ensure achievement of organisational goals.
- Participate in the compilation of annual operational budgets and monitoring of expenditure against budget and amendments to forecast if needed.
