Job Description
The University of South Africa (UNISA) offers a 12-month internship in the Institutional Advancement Department, focusing on communication. Interns will draft press releases, handle internal communications, create campaign messaging, and liaise with media, contributing to UNISA’s public engagement. This programme provides mentorship and practical workplace experience for unemployed South African graduates passionate about communication.
Requirements
- National Diploma or Degree in Communication, Media Studies, or Corporate Communication (NQF Level 6 or above)
- Unemployed South African citizen
- No formal work experience in the field of application
- No previous participation in an internship programme at UNISA or any other organization
- Age not older than 35 years
- UNISA graduate in the required field of study
- Ability to provide certified copies (not older than 6 months) of South African ID, Matric Certificate, Academic Record, and UNISA qualification
Responsibilities
- Draft press releases for UNISA
- Handle internal communication materials
- Create campaign messaging for marketing initiatives
- Liaise with media and stakeholders
- Contribute to UNISA’s public engagement through communications
- Collaborate with the Institutional Advancement team
- Ensure communications align with UNISA’s brand and objectives
