Job Description

The Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET), Corporate Services branch, is seeking a Graduate Intern for a 24-month fixed-term contract in HRM&D Recruitment and Selection. The role supports recruitment processes and HR administration at the Pretoria Head Office. Due to the high volume of applications anticipated, only short-listed candidates will be contacted.

Requirements

  • National diploma or Degree in Human Resource Management, Public Administration, or Office Administration
  • No previous service as a Graduate Intern or contract worker in the Public Service
  • All qualifications subject to verification
  • Foreign qualifications must be evaluated by the South African Qualification Authority (SAQA)
  • Subject to citizenship verification, reference checks, and security vetting

Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing recruitment and selection processes
  • Screen and shortlist candidate applications
  • Coordinate interviews and candidate communications
  • Maintain recruitment records and databases
  • Support compliance with HR policies and procedures
  • Provide administrative support for recruitment activities
