Drive transformation and mainstreaming initiatives as a Deputy Director at the Gauteng Department of Infrastructure Development. This role focuses on integrating gender, youth, disability, and historically disadvantaged groups into departmental programs, ensuring compliance with national and provincial mandates. Requirements

  • A qualification at (NQF 6)/Degree (NQF 7) in Development Studies, Public Administration, Social Sciences, or equivalent qualification as recognised by SAQA
  • A minimum of 5 years relevant public or private sector experience, of which 3 years must be at ASD level
  • A valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

  • Advocate for gender, women, youth, disability, older persons, LGBTIQ+, and historically disadvantaged needs to be considered and integrated in departmental planning processes
  • Provide strategic and operational support to various Directorates/Sub-Directorates on compliance with National and Provincial reporting obligations related to matters of transformation and mainstreaming
  • Coordinate mainstreaming of historically disadvantaged, women, LGBTIQ+, persons with disabilities, older persons, and youth development issues in the departmental programmes and budgets
  • Develop and monitor policy frameworks, strategies, plans of action, minimum norms, standards, and practices in respect of mainstreaming of historically disadvantaged and targeted/vulnerable groups
  • Provide analytical research, monitoring, and report writing capacity
  • Implement performance review mechanisms established to continuously monitor and evaluate all programmes as informed by the status quo report as well as the 5-year POA of the Department and Provincial Government
  • Manage the implementation of advocacy and awareness campaigns to further the rights of youth in the department and in the Province
  • Coordinate the Departmental and Municipal Intergovernmental gender, disability, older persons, youth, and LGBTIQ+ forums and sectorial meetings to institutionalize delivery to the targeted/vulnerable groups
  • Compile regular reports for the various targeted stakeholders and organs of Government
  • Uphold and contribute towards Good-Governance & Management practices and implementation of Batho Pele principles
