Job Description

Absa Bank is hiring a Commercial Asset Finance Manager to oversee CAF product performance within a designated customer segment. This hybrid role, based in Umhlanga, requires strong collaboration with internal teams, responsibility for risk and compliance, and the ability to drive sales planning, team development, and client relationships to grow the market share and enhance customer experience.

Requirements

  • Honours degree in Commerce, Finance, Marketing, or Business
  • MBA, CA, or CIMA qualification is advantageous
  • 3–5 years experience in a similar role, including at least 1–2 years at junior specialist level
  • Proven experience in Commercial Asset Finance
  • Preferred experience in Credit Risk Assessment
  • Ability to manage risk in alignment with regulatory and compliance environments
  • Experienced people manager with coaching and mentoring skills
  • Strong business development and client solutioning abilities
  • Capability to manage sales planning and budgeting
  • Understanding of internal governance processes and performance reporting
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Commercial Asset Finance product within the allocated customer segment
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customer segments and third parties to support business development
  • Lead a team of CAF specialists to deliver capex advice and client support
  • Take ownership of portfolio risk management and compliance with internal and external regulations
  • Serve as the primary contact for governance and risk issues in the portfolio
  • Develop and execute sales strategy aligned with business performance goals
  • Brief operational teams on new campaigns and address their concerns
  • Support the Product Head through accurate reporting on team performance and target achievements
  • Coordinate budget processes, investigate income/expense deviations, and uphold governance
  • Coach and mentor the CAF team to meet business objectives
  • Foster a culture of customer service excellence through strong client and supplier relationships
