Job Description

The Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET), Planning, Policy and Strategy branch, is seeking a Graduate Intern for a 24-month fixed-term contract in Career Development Services. The role supports IT systems for career programs at the Pretoria Head Office. Due to the high volume of applications anticipated, only short-listed candidates will be contacted.

Requirements

• National diploma or Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Information Systems, or Software Engineering
• No previous service as a Graduate Intern or contract worker in the Public Service
• All qualifications subject to verification
• Foreign qualifications must be evaluated by the South African Qualification Authority (SAQA)
• Subject to citizenship verification, reference checks, and security vetting

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing IT solutions for career development platforms
• Support testing and maintenance of IT systems
• Maintain documentation for IT projects
• Collaborate with teams on system enhancements
• Provide technical support for career services
• Ensure compliance with IT policies and standards
