Interns x18 – ARC: AP - Range & Forage Sciences (1 Year Fixed Contract)

Job Description

The ARC invites applications for 18 fixed-term internship positions in the Range & Forage Sciences division at ARC-Animal Production, University of Western Cape, Pretoria, and Eastern Cape. Interns will assist with fieldwork preparation, data collection, project management, and coordination of research activities.

Requirements

• National Diploma, BSc, Honours, or MSc in Agricultural Management, Animal Sciences, Plant Sciences, Wildlife Management, or Biodiversity Conservation
• Postgraduate qualifications advantageous
• Prior experience in rangeland or animal-related fieldwork
• Good interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
• Proficiency in MS Office
• Ability to work with large teams and handle multiple tasks
• Ability to make informed decisions confidently
• Valid Driver’s Licence Code 8 or 10 is an added advantage

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation of materials and equipment for fieldwork
• Assist with data collection, labelling, capture, and storage
• Ensure proper use and management of research equipment
• Compile monthly and quarterly reports
• Assist with project management and coordination of research activities
• Adhere to SOPs and Occupational Health and Safety policies
• Contribute to all Range and Forage Science research projects
• Provide verbal and written feedback on work activities
