The Unilever Youth Employment Service (YES) Programme is a 12-month internship designed to give young, unemployed individuals a stepping stone into the professional world. Participants will gain meaningful work experience, develop essential skills, and get hands-on exposure across various business functions. Requirements
- South African citizen, aged 18 – 34 years
- Currently unemployed and not studying full-time
- Completed Matric certificate (Grade 12)
- Relevant tertiary qualifications advantageous
- Should not have more than 2 years’ work experience
- Commitment to the 12-month programme
- Must not have completed a YES Programme previously
- Willingness to learn and grow in a professional environment
- A strong academic record
- Strong computer literacy
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good time management
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
- A positive attitude
Responsibilities
- Take on support responsibilities across different business functions to ensure effective operation.
- Work with major supermarkets and other customers to ensure outlets deliver optimal results.
- Help prepare product samples and manage logistics for customer demos, trade shows, and meetings.
- Support chefs with content creation for webinars and instructional videos.
- Contribute to brand building and strategic development to grow market share and brand equity.
- Assist in managing the end-to-end supply chain process, from sourcing to product delivery.
- Handle tasks related to talent management, employee engagement, and organizational development.
- Support financial planning, analysis, reporting, and compliance activities.
- Provide technical assistance for technology solutions and digital transformation projects.
- Work on engineering projects and gain exposure to industry-leading manufacturing processes.
- Assist the site SHE Coordinator in implementing and maintaining an effective health and safety management system.
- Help manage internal and external communications and public relations.
- Support employee development, training, and compensation strategies.
