Senior Administrative Officer: Logistics & Disposals (Inventory)

Job Description

Support inventory management and disposals as a Senior Administrative Officer at the Gauteng Department of Infrastructure Development. This role involves processing requisitions, managing stock, and overseeing disposal processes to ensure compliance and efficiency. Ideal for a detail-oriented professional with experience in supply chain management.

Requirements

• A qualification at NQF Level 6/7 in Supply Chain Management/Logistics/Cost and Management Accounting/Business Management/Strategic Source/Purchasing Management
• A minimum of 2–3 years of experience

Responsibilities

• Receive requisitions
• Process requisitions
• Coordinate the placement of orders for goods and services
• Place orders for the service in case of a required service
• Order and acquire goods if not a store item or the item is not in stock
• Receive and check goods
• Capture goods on relevant procurement system
• Return damaged, incorrect, and substandard goods
• Issue goods as required
• Prepare and collect payment documents
• Facilitate continuous monitoring of inventory
• Facilitate stock taking according to stock taking plan
• Conduct comparison of stock counted with official records
• Identify outdated, unserviceable, redundant, and obsolete stock
• Prepare the identified stock for disposal
• Develop proposals for the disposal method
• Present to the disposal committee for approval
