Job Description

The Electronic Sales & Client Services Specialist is responsible for managing client relationships and ensuring the smooth operation of electronic trading platforms. This role exists in investment banks, brokerage firms, and fintech companies that offer electronic trading solutions for equities, fixed income, foreign exchange (FX), or derivatives. It acts as a bridge between clients and internal teams, providing technical support, resolving trading issues, and ensuring optimal platform performance. The ideal candidate will have a post graduate degree in finance with a minimum of 5 years working in a global market’s environment supporting clients on E-Commerce platforms, with in-depth knowledge of electronic trading systems including Bloomberg, Fidessa, Flextrade, and 360T, as well as familiarity with FIX protocol, API connectivity, market structure, order types, and algorithmic trading.

Requirements

  • Post graduate degree in Finance
  • Minimum of 5 years working in a global markets environment supporting clients on E-Commerce platforms
  • In-depth knowledge of electronic trading systems including Bloomberg, Fidessa, Flextrade, and 360T
  • Familiarity with FIX protocol and API connectivity
  • Understanding of market structure, order types, and algorithmic trading
  • Ability to develop tactical strategy and delivery plans in support of functional strategic objectives
  • Experience executing defined business strategy and translating it into business operations
  • Strong communication skills to convey policy modifications, progress, and critical success factors to stakeholders
  • Ability to develop and implement multiple practices in alignment with operational policies and procedures
  • Skill in identifying interconnected problems, assessing impact, and developing best-fit solutions
  • Awareness of and responsiveness to local market conditions
  • Experience influencing organizational structures, capacity, and delivery systems
  • Ability to serve as primary point of contact for electronic trading clients
  • Relationship-building skills with institutional clients, hedge funds, and broker-dealers
  • Experience mapping clients for high-level processing
  • Ability to perform system health checks and ensure seamless service operations
  • Experience liaising with third-party service providers and conducting root cause analysis
  • Experience providing training and onboarding support for new clients
  • Ability to assist in creating and refining training materials
  • Experience monitoring electronic trading systems to ensure smooth trade execution
  • Troubleshooting and real-time resolution of trading issues
  • Collaboration skills with traders, sales, and technology teams to optimize trading flows
  • Ability to address FIX protocol connectivity issues and API integration challenges
  • Experience assisting clients with algorithmic trading strategies and order routing configurations
  • Ability to work with IT and development teams to implement system enhancements
  • Knowledge of market regulations and compliance policies
  • Ability to identify and mitigate operational risks related to electronic trading
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Business, Commerce, or Management Studies
  • Commitment to diversity and compliance with the Employment Equity Act 55 of 1998
