Operator: Machine

Job Description

The Machine Operator is responsible for providing customers with accurately cut timber and boards in a timely and efficient manner. This role requires precision in machine maintenance, adjusting settings, and regulating speed to ensure correct edge trimming and sanding. The operator is also responsible for assisting customers, maintaining a tidy and safe cutting area, and reporting any stock shortages or machine failures.

Requirements

• Grade 12
• 1-year industrial experience
• Admin and numeracy skills
• Good people skills

Responsibilities

• Machine Maintenance
• Feeding material into the machine
• Adjust Machine Settings
• Regulate Speed of the machine belt
• Regulate Temperature
• Correct Edge trimming and sanding
• Attending to customers
• Housekeeping
• Perform various operator functions
• Safe and Security
• Keep Cutting area tidy
• Report Stock shortages
• Ensure adherence to Safety policy and procedure
• Reporting Failures
• Stock-take
