Job Description

MAN Automotive (South Africa) (Pty) Ltd is seeking a Group Leader in Logistics to oversee production targets, stock control, operator development, and the implementation of lean manufacturing and quality improvement measures within its Pinetown facility.

Requirements

• Grade 12 Matric Certificate
• Relevant production qualification
• Good communication (oral and written) and interpersonal relations skills
• Assertive with decision-making skills
• Computer literate
• Flexible, active, and forward-thinking
• Problem-solving skills
• Encourage teamwork and professionalism
• Production planning skills
• Ability to build confidence and manage cooperative partnerships
• Technical experience in a manufacturing/assembly environment - 3 years
• Experience with health and safety requirements in a manufacturing environment

Responsibilities

• Ensure production volume targets are met
• Conduct daily start-up and operations meetings
• Lead and develop operators
• Manage time, attendance, and manpower planning
• Identify quality defects and oversee countermeasure implementation
• Ensure logistics quality targets are met
• Manage receipt, binning, and allocation of parts
• Balance stock using MRP systems and handle shortages
• Oversee logistics-related continuous improvement activities (Kaizen, lean practices)
• Ensure health and safety practices are implemented
• Implement and monitor 5S standards
• Facilitate daily Green Area meetings and update visual boards
• Handle disciplinary issues, performance management, and operator development
• Investigate production deviations and define countermeasures
• Ensure compliance with ISO procedures and work instructions
