How to Change Sassa SRD R350 Payment Method to Spar

I know how frustrating it can be when you need to receive your SASSA R350 grant, but the usual collection method isn’t working for you.

The post office method has been shut down, other stores’ queues are too long, or your bank account has issues.

That’s why I decided to change my payment method to collect at my local Spar supermarket.

Changing the way I receive my grant has saved me a lot of time and made the process much more convenient.

If you’re tired of the long queues or want a collection point closer to home, switching to Spar might be the answer for you too.

Let me guide you through the process!

Important Things to Know Before You Start:

  • Suitable Spars: Only certain Spar stores allow for SASSA grant collection. It’s best to call your local Spar beforehand to confirm they offer this service.
  • ID is Essential: You’ll absolutely need your South African ID document to collect your grant at Spar.
  • Timing: There might be specific dates or times when you can collect your grant. Ask your local Spar about this when you call to confirm if they offer the service.

Step-By-Step Guide to Change Sassa R350 Payment Method to Spar

1. Access the SASSA Website:

Open your internet browser (like Chrome or Safari) on your phone or computer.

Go to the SASSA SRD website:

2. Log into Your Account:

Click on the “Login” button.

Enter your ID number and the password you created when you made your account.

If you forgot your password, click “Forgot Password” and follow the instructions.

3. Find the ‘Change Payment Method‘ Option:

Once you’re logged in, look for a section on your screen called “My Application” or something similar.

Click inside this section to see more options.

Look for the words “Change Payment Method” or an option that sounds similar. Click on it.

4. Select ‘SPAR’ as your New Payment Method:

You should now see a list of different payment options.

Look for the SPAR logo or the word “SPAR” and click on it.

5. Enter SPAR Store Details:

The website will now need information about the SPAR store where you want to collect your payment.

Carefully type in the name or location of your chosen Spar store. Be sure to double-check for any spelling mistakes.

6. Confirm the Change:

Once you’ve entered the Spar details, the website will show you a summary of the changes you want to make.

Read through this summary carefully to make sure everything is correct.

If everything looks good, find the “Submit” or “Confirm” button and click on it.

7. Receive Confirmation:

You should see a message on the screen saying that your payment method has been changed successfully.

It’s a good idea to write this confirmation message down or take a screenshot in case you need it later.
